Yes, we are well aware (WELL aware) of the current hysteria that is circulating about Grouply. Here's what happened: http://blog.grouply.com/nobody-loves-a-spammer .

We are doing our best to spread "the truth", and we welcome assistance from all of you. Here's a good place to point people: http://blog.grouply.com/protect .

Yes, it is true that we require your Yahoo ID and password to use Grouply. This is so we can collect your group messages and verify your group memberships. We don't use it for anything else. And there are actually lots and lots of companies that collect Yahoo IDs and passwords to provide you a value-added service, including Meebo and your wireless carrier to enable your Blackberry. The important thing is that don't abuse your sensitive information and we protect it so it cannot be compromised. Here's some more on this: http://blog.grouply.com/protect#password .

Thanks, everyone, for your patience and understanding as we work through this.

Mark

UPDATE: You can now use Grouply without providing your Yahoo ID and password. Read more about this option here: http://blog.grouply.com/grouply-social-inbox/

Hi. I love your Grouply. However, I was forced to stop using it because the groups I belong to are sending messages DAILY about how dangerous your site is. According to them, your mission is to steal all of our passwords and SPAM much. I even got kicked out of a group and had to rejoin. I got a message from another group that anyone using your service will be banned from the group. Will you please comment on this?

This is a terrific idea! I am so happy someone recommended me to Grouply. The social launches are also a wonderful idea as my website is included so people can find me. The profile is also a super way to promote my website. This is excellent exposure and will raise my rank on the search engines too. Rev.
