With this upgrade, Grouply provides you more flexibility in how you connect to and interact with your groups.  Grouply can now collect your group messages directly from the Yahoo Groups website instead of via email.  You can receive your Smart Digest and individual group messages at many different email addresses if you want.  And based on user feedback, we redesigned the message search results page, the message detail pages, and several other pages, so Grouply now looks better and is easier to use than ever! Following are some of the key features in this upgrade.

Multiple Email Addresses

Now all the email addresses from your Yahoo Groups profile are automatically available for you to use in Grouply.  You can have your Smart Digest and individual emails sent to different addresses if you like.  Indicate where emails should be sent on the Manage Email Subscriptions page in Grouply.

Web Connection

Previously, Grouply had just one way to collect your group messages—through email.  In order to connect your groups, Grouply assigned you a grouply.com email address and updated your membership settings in Yahoo to send to this address.  This method ensures that your group messages are available in Grouply as soon as possible.  One side effect of this option is that messages you post to your groups appear to group members as coming from your grouply.com address.

With the web connection option, Grouply pulls new messages directly from the Yahoo Groups website, so you can maintain whatever email settings you like in Yahoo Groups and still use Grouply.  You can select the web connection option for one or more of your groups on the Update Group Access page in Grouply.

Advanced Profile Page

As you know, Grouply provides a number of features that make your online groups a lot more “social”.  Each Grouply user gets a profile page that fellow group members can visit to get to know you better.  This release of Grouply adds a Visitors box so you can see who has viewed your profile recently.  And you now have the opportunity to share even more about yourself, including your tags, messages you’ve rated highly, and answers to custom questions.  As always, you have total control over what others see, and you can make changes whenever you want on the Update Your Profile page.  Profile pages update automatically to reflect user interests, so you’ll want to visit your friends’ profile pages again and again.

Updated User Interface

Many pages in Grouply have been updated with our new user-friendly user interface and interaction elements.  The Message Search Results page includes icons to represent message types and message statistics and a collapsible list of filters to help you easily refine your search.  The message detail pages were redesigned with a new visually appealing look that also streamlines user interaction.  New “pop-in” boxes assist you in bookmarking and tagging.

Advanced Messaging

You can now communicate with you fellow group members by sending them individual messages right from within Grouply.  And you now have the freedom to format messages with different fonts and colors using Grouply’s rich text editor.

We want you to love Grouply!  If you have any suggestions about what we can do to improve your Grouply experience, please let us know at feedback@grouply.com.  As always, thanks for your support, and thanks for using Grouply!
