Grouply Manual Setup Instructions

If you do not wish to provide your Yahoo username and password to Grouply, you can still use Grouply by manually configuring your Yahoo Groups settings. First you must sign up for Grouply at www.grouply.com to get your free grouply.com email address.  Then you can follow the instructions below to begin using Grouply.
1. Add your grouply.com email address to your Yahoo Groups account
This will allow you to forward your group emails to your Grouply account. You need to do this only once.
- Go to the My Email Preferences page in Yahoo Groups (http://groups.yahoo.com/myprefs) and click Add Email Address. (You may need to login to Yahoo first.) Show me
- On the Add Email Address page, enter your grouply.com email address in the format grouply_username@grouply.com (e.g., jsmith@grouply.com) and click Continue. Show me
- Yahoo will ask you to verify your Yahoo password. Enter it and click Sign In. Show me
- The “Yahoo! Account Information: Email Verification†page will appear, indicating that a verification email has been sent to your grouply.com address. Grouply will forward this verification email to the email address you provided when you registered with Grouply. If it does not arrive within five minutes, please contact us at support@grouply.com .
- When you receive the verification email from Yahoo, open it and follow the instructions. After you verify your grouply.com email address, you will be taken to the My Email Preferences page in Yahoo Groups (http://groups.yahoo.com/myprefs) where your grouply.com address should show up in the list with Status = Normal. 2. Add “alternate posting addresses” to your new grouply.com address
This will ensure that you can continue to post via email to all of your groups from all of your email addresses. You need to do this only once.
- Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/myprefs.
- Locate your grouply.com address. Under the Options column, click Edit. Show me
- Under Message Preferences on the “Edit options for grouply_username@grouply.com†page, ensure Fully Featured is selected.
- Under Alternate Posting Addresses, enter all the email addresses from which you would like to be able to post to your Yahoo Groups. Show me
- Click Save Changes.
3. Update your Yahoo Groups settings to send your group messages to Grouply
This is how you are able to access your group messages on Grouply. You need to do this for all of your existing groups and any new groups you join in the future.
- Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups?o=2&edit=1&m=s .
- For each group you would like to access via Grouply, set the Email Address column to your grouply.com address and set Message Delivery to Individual Emails. When you are done making changes on a page, click Save Changes. Show me
- If you have more than 25 groups, click Next and repeat the previous step. Continue until you have updated the membership settings for all of your groups.
- Individual emails must be sent to Grouply in the Fully Featured (HTML) format and not the Traditional (plain text) format. Fully Featured is the default, so unless you manually changed it to Traditional at some point, there is nothing more you need to do here. To review the message format for individual emails for a group, go to the group’s home page in Yahoo Groups (e.g., http://groups.yahoo.com/group/groupname) and click Edit Membership. Under “Step 3 – Message Preference”, ensure that Fully Featured is selected. Show me
